Make a class name worksheet pack
Turn a short class list into separate worksheets without placing different learners on the same page.
Use the private workbench to prepare several names with the same paper and practice settings. The separate-worksheet download starts every entry on a new page and collects the results into one PDF. It is useful when you want to hand out individual sheets instead of a mixed list.
Try a fictional three-name pack
Open the name tracing maker, then enter Maya, José and Anne-Marie on three separate input lines. Keep the intended spelling and capitalization. Remove empty lines so the workbench can prepare the pack. Repeated names remain separate entries, so two learners with the same name can still receive two worksheets. An unchanged imported project can contain a multiline entry; those lines remain part of the same worksheet.
Set up once, then download separate worksheets
- Choose a short row pattern, such as Look, Trace, Copy, with one repetition.
- Choose A4 or US Letter to match the printer, then set a comfortable letter-body size.
- Check the regular preview for full accents, descenders and usable margins.
- In Export, choose Download PDF — one entry per worksheet. The regular Download PDF button keeps the combined layout shown in the preview.
- Open the downloaded PDF and inspect every entry before printing or distributing it.
What changes in the pack
| Setting or situation | Result |
|---|---|
| Three short names on separate input lines | Three worksheets, each beginning on its own page |
| A long name or many repetitions | That entry may continue onto more than one page; the next entry still starts on a fresh page |
| Page numbers in the worksheet footer | Restart for each entry, so they identify continuation pages within that worksheet |
| Cards or a drawing box selected | The same layout is applied separately to each entry |
| A blank-paper sheet with no text | Use the regular PDF download instead; a separate-entry pack needs an entry |
The pack uses the same letterforms, guides, paper and vector geometry as ordinary export. Its page breaks differ from the regular preview. This feature does not stretch one entry to fill a page, automatically repeat it down the page or guarantee one physical page for every name. Increase Repeat sequence only after checking how many rows you need. With Shrink to fit, each entry may scale differently because it is laid out separately. For names, use a wider paper orientation or choose a smaller shared size yourself to keep them consistent. Wrapping at word boundaries applies to word and phrase entries; names keep their chosen spelling together.
Keep a class list manageable
A pack is limited to 20 pages in total, with the same text and drawing-resource limits as the workbench. If the pack exceeds a limit, no partial PDF is downloaded. Reduce repetitions or split the list into smaller batches. A regular combined sheet can fit even when a separate pack is too large, because every entry needs a fresh page.
Review and distribute with care
The filename is generic, but the PDF contains every name in the batch. Send each family only the intended pages, or print and separate the worksheets yourself. The tool does not make separate files, email sheets, store a class roster or remove personal text from a downloaded PDF.
Save project keeps the original editable list and settings, not a new pack format. Unsaved text stays in this tab until you clear or leave it. On a shared device, clear the workspace and manage downloaded files separately.
